Transformers, like many other pieces of equipment, have a limited lifespan. When a transformer goes down, so can your production.
Allegheny Field Services recommends that facilities performs regular testing on their oil-filled transformers. By testing the oil within the transformers on a regular basis, we are able to predict if and when the equipment could fail. This of course allows you to plan for such an event and prevent downtime. You can then schedule a time to service the transformer, should a problem be detected.
